Koboko District comprises of one county, 6 Sub-counties, one Town Council, 47 parishes (LCIIs) and 394 villages (LCIs). The district has one Urban Council namely, Koboko Town Council. Two new sub-counties of Abuku from Lobule and Dranya from Midia have only been operational for two years. Their structures are yet taking shape with interim council and executives. A number of the new parishes are not operational and have no Parish Chiefs to manage them. New villages were also created mostly in Kuluba and Ludara as a result of new settlements that have taken place inareas that were mainly occupied by forests.
